When you contact Microware's Customer Support Team, please supply your Customer Number to help us find you in our database. In addition, if you are contacting us about a previous or open incident, please give your Incident Number.
An explanation of the various numbers we use:
Your Customer Number is a 6 character alphanumeric word (such as "micr01") which uniquely identifies your company for us. If you do not know your Customer Number, we will tell you the next time you contact us.
An Incident Number is a 4 or 5 digit number (such as 9876 or 12345) which uniquely identifies your active incident with us. You should receive this number when you call, or in response to your e-mail, FAX, or Online Submission. Providing this number in all of your correspondences helps us locate your incident quickly and reliably. For best results, simply enter Incident #### in the subject field of your e-mail where ##### is your indicent number.
How to provide us with the information we need:
The operating sytstem version and the CPU and machine type it is running on.
For the OS-9® operating system, a good way to find out your OS version number is by typing:
ident -m kernel
Note: the edition number in the utility output (to the right of "Edition:" -- hexidecimal F4 or decimal 244 in this example).
![]() |
An alternate way of getting the OS-9® edition number is by typing:
dump -m kernel
You should see something like:
![]() |
This shows that this is an OS-9/68040 system, running version 3.0 of the Development Kernel.
