Radisys Introduces Quad-Core COM Express 2.0 Module Based on 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 Processor at 2.1GHz

Radisys’ breakthrough Procelerant™ CEQM67 module delivers extreme processing power and graphics within a basic 95mm x 125mm form factor for medical, enterprise telecom and mil/aero applications.

HILLSBORO, ORE. – January 5, 2011 - Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of innovative hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, today announced the release of its ProcelerantTM CEQM67, a breakthrough, quad-core performance Type 6 COM Express Revision 2.0 module based on the 2nd generation Intel® CoreTM i7 processor at 2.1GHz and Intel® QM67 Express chipset. Industries including medical, enterprise telecom and mil/aero continue to migrate to smaller, more powerful, scalable devices that demand graphics and processor performance for video-intensive applications. These industries are actively incorporating higher-performance processors into platforms that lower the cost, improve performance ratio and drive product adoption. Procelerant CEQM67 is Radisys’ first Type 6 COM Express 2.0 compliant product that provides quad-core processing in a basic 95mm x 125mm form factor COM Express revision 2.0 module.

The COM Express Type 6 module, defined in the COM Express 2.0 specification, addresses the need for digital display interfaces (DDI) while offering a simple upgrade path for existing Type 2-based designs used in applications requiring higher processing, graphics and memory performance. Radisys’ Procelerant CEQM67 maximizes the performance and feature benefits of the new platform comprised of the Intel® CoreTM i7 processor and Intel® QM67 Express chipset by complying with the Type 6 specification. The Procelerant CEQM67 supports increased PCI Express lanes over COM Express 1.0, up to 12 USB ports, four SATA ports and three DDIs, including High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), DisplayPort and Serial Digital Video Out (SDVO) interfaces. The Procelerant CEQM67 places the difficult and complex, high-speed processor design on a modular and upgradeable form factor – enabling customers to reduce cycle time while increasing design focus on the differentiating application requirements of the carrier board SDVO interfaces.
