Radisys’ DCEngine Wins 2016 INTERNET TELEPHONY NFV Pioneer Award
DCEngine delivers a hyperscale data center infrastructure solution with flexible compute, storage and network configurations
HILLSBORO, OR, U.S. – May 5, 2016 — Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), the services acceleration company, announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has awarded DCEngine™ a 2016 INTERNET TELEPHONY NFV Pioneer Award. The award honors products that have demonstrated innovation, unique features and noteworthy developments toward improving Network Function Virtualization (NFV). The DCEngine framework transforms service provider central offices into SDN-enabled virtualized data centers.
DCEngine provides a multi-rack level network functions virtualization (NFVi) and container-based infrastructure for hosting thousands of virtualized network functions (VNFs) and applications under open software-defined networking (SDN) control. At the end of 2015, Radisys began shipping DCEngine into one of the world’s largest service provider’s to evolve its infrastructure to a DevOps-enabled data center environment.
“Radisys is committed to helping service providers address their unique cloud requirements to deploy services quickly,” said Bryan Sadowski, vice president, FlowEngine Product Marketing, Radisys. “DCEngine is a low-cost infrastructure solution that allows for unified workloads and eliminates purpose-built hardware, enabling services to be deployed much more quickly. We also bring to the table 25+ years of experience in providing hardware and software integration services, making Radisys the ideal partner for service providers transitioning to the hyperscale data center model.”
DCEngine utilizes the principles of highly efficient open compute platform (OCP) architectures and integrates fully supported open source software. Radisys has built flexibility into DCEngine to address telco central office demands for seismic, power, emissions and NEBS, which are above and beyond the traditional data center requirements. Service providers use DCEngine to provide pools of compute and storage resources that they can quickly scale to meet their evolving service requirements while improving agility in their service delivery.
“Congratulations to Radisys for receiving a 2016 INTERNET TELEPHONY NFV Pioneer Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “DCEngine has demonstrated true innovation and is leading the way for Network Function Virtualization. I look forward to continued excellence from Radisys in 2016 and beyond.”
