Radisys Ranked #1 Media Server Vendor For Seventh Consecutive Year

Radisys Recognized as the Leading IP Media Server Vendor by Market Research Firm Infonetics Research.

HILLSBORO, ORE. – March 9, 2011 - Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of innovative hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, today announced that it has been named the market leader in media servers for the seventh consecutive year by premier market research firm Infonetics Research. In its study, “Service Provider VoIP Equipment and Subscribers: Quarterly Worldwide and Regional Market Share, Size and Forecasts,” Infonetics Research reported Radisys’ family of media servers captured 65 percent of the total market for the 2010 calendar year, an 11 percent gain over 2009.

“With the ongoing migration of telecommunication services to IP network architectures, including 3G, IMS and LTE, the media server plays a critical role in delivering scalable, real-time IP voice and video media processing,” said Diane Myers, directing analyst, service provider VoIP and IMS, Infonetics Research. “Radisys continues to deliver innovative media server product enhancements in their efforts to maintain and grow their leadership position.”

In 2010, Radisys announced its Integrated Mobile Media Server (IMMS), enhancing mobile service providers’ ability to grow new revenues from the explosion of 3G mobile video services and 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) deployments. Radisys also announced transcoding solutions for all-IP service networks based on the Radisys Media Server as well as new features and enhancements for its award-winning Software Media Server.

“Radisys continues to leverage our core competencies in IP media processing and carrier-class processing platforms into adjacent markets to help solve customer pain points,” said David Smith, general manager, media server business unit, Radisys. “For example, our transcoding solution offers an economical alternative to large-scale, IP-IP transcoding in a carrier’s network, while our IMMS solution offers significant CAPEX savings for video service rollouts in emerging markets. Adoption of these solutions by our service provider customers and application partners is validation of our open standards-based media server products being successfully deployed across multiple applications and network rollouts. We look forward to continued success in 2011 and fulfilling our ongoing commitment to deliver the revenue-generating products and services that our customers desire.”
