Radisys CTO Manish Singh Appointed To Femto Forum Executive Board

HILLSBORO, Ore.-September 20, 2011- Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS) Chief Technology Officer Manish Singh has been appointed to the Executive Board of The Femto Forum, the independent industry and operator association that supports femtocell deployment worldwide. The Femto Forum promotes the wide-scale adoption of small cells and has 137 members, including 63 operators.

In July 2011, Radisys completed the acquisition of Continuous Computing, including the company’s highly regarded and enormously successful Trillium wireless basestation software. Manish Singh, formerly part of the Continuous Computing team, was appointed to the role of CTO at Radisys upon closure of the acquisition.

“Manish has been a tremendous advocate for the global small cell industry since its very inception, and he is a strong and valuable addition to the Executive Board,” said Femto Forum Chair Simon Saunders. “The expertise, influence and vision of Manish will support our continued growth and development as the mobile industry turns to femtocells to handle rapid increases in data usage.”

Radisys CTO Manish Singh added: “The Femto Forum continues to play a significant role in the development of the small cell industry, and it’s a privilege to join the group’s Executive Board and support the ongoing work. The market for small cells is growing all the time and we expect it to boom for both residential applications and as a key tool for effective LTE deployment.

“Small cells will be a major part of the Radisys business. Radisys’ strength in ATCA systems, combined with the award winning Trillium software, will support our continued innovation and the advancement and broadening of our portfolio in femto and security gateways,” concluded Manish.

The Radisys Trillium software boasts over 50 small cell customer wins in 3G and LTE, and is pre-integrated with the industry’s dominant silicon suppliers, including Broadcom, Freescale, Intel, Mindspeed, Qualcomm, Picochip and Texas Instruments.

Trillium protocol stack software empowers network equipment providers and device manufacturers to develop reliable, high-performance network elements for wireless and packet processing applications. Trillium protocol stack software features a proven multi-threaded design that minimizes locking and optimizes performance in today’s multi-core processing environments.
