RadiSys Receives Unified Communications® Magazine's 2009 Product of the Year Award

Voice Quality Enhancement for the RadiSys Convedia Media Server Recognized for Exceptional Innovation

HILLSBORO, Ore., May 5, 2010 — RadiSys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of innovative hardware and software platforms for next generation IP–based wireless, wireline and video networks, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®) has named the new Voice Quality Enhancement (VQE) features for the Convedia® Media Server as a recipient of its 2009 Unified Communications Magazine Product of the Year Award.

“It is an honor to grant RadiSys with a 2009 Product of the Year Award for its Voice Quality Enhancement features for the Convedia Media Server. RadiSys has proven its dedication to quality and excellence while supporting the needs in the marketplace,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “We look forward to seeing continued advancement in technology solutions from RadiSys in the future.”

VQE encompasses an integrated set of features designed to overcome common audio quality problems in VoIP telecommunication services, including noise, packet loss and echo. RadiSys' comprehensive VQE solution also measures VoIP quality metrics, which are used in ongoing voice quality measurement associated with service level agreements. Specifically, VQE introduces the following features:

RadiSys' pioneering integration of a comprehensive VoIP audio quality improvement package with existing IP media processing capabilities establishes an industry first among IP media server vendors. By consolidating both sets of real–time IP packet processing requirements in the same network element, RadiSys Convedia media servers with VQE improve audio quality, minimize end–to–end delay, streamline network integration and reduce CAPEX and ongoing OPEX costs through consolidated utilization of network equipment resources. Integrated VQE technology cost–effectively overcomes voice quality challenges associated with an IP packet network, which can increase end–user satisfaction in next–generation VoIP services and help accelerate the growth of VoIP and IMS service revenues.

“RadiSys' integration of Voice Quality Enhancement within our Convedia media servers offers immense value to our service provider customers and application developers,” said David Smith, vice president and general manager of media server market, RadiSys. “Service providers can now address both their IP media processing and VQE requirements in a single network element, the Convedia Media Server.”

A complete list of Product of the Year Award winners was published in the March/April 2010 issue of Unified Communications Magazine, www.uc-mag.com.
