  2. LR Webinar: Future for Policy Enforcement and Network Probes

    01/24/2012 - Webinar

The DPI market and in particular the Policy Enforcement segment is set for strong growth with projection of greater than $1.5B by 2015.

With demanding performance requirements that call for 100s of Gbps throughput and a move to 100GbE, there is raging debate in the industry as to whether it's a market for standalone equipment, embedded in routers or part of standards based mobile core network devices, and in particular how to achieve scalability and protect CapEx in existing 3G networks.

This webinar and a future related whitepaper will discuss the pros and cons of each approach discussing both technology and commercial challenges and the role COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) products can play in addressing these challenges.

  2. Protecting Mobile Networks from Untrusted Wi-Fi & 3GPP Cell Sites

    12/01/2011

Join Jeff Sharpe, Sr. Product Line Manager - Radisys and Patrick Donegan, Senior Analyst – Light Reading for an informative webinar that will discuss the unique security challenges for small cells in the domestic, enterprise and wide area environments.

Be they in domestic femto, enterprise or wide area environments, both Wi-Fi and cellular small cells offer additional capacity without the expense of conventional macro cell sites and form a key part of most mobile operators' Radio Access Network (RAN) roadmaps. Small cells nevertheless bring with them a fundamentally different security challenge. For one thing, small cells don’t benefit from the same physical security afforded to traditional macro-cells. Drawing from new Heavy Reading survey research on mobile network security, this webinar will look at the challenges operators face as they plan for small cell security in the domestic, enterprise and wide area environments and will recommend best practice security architectures for operators planning to expand the capacity or reach of their RAN with Wi-FI and 3GPP-defined small cells.

  2. Securing Next Generation LTE Mobile Networks

    05/05/2011

LTE is the next big thing in terms of improved cost and performance of the mobile network. But as LTE drives operators further towards the ISP business model, it also exposes the operator to new security challenges. It isn’t just the sheer volume and variety of mobile data application and traffic types that exposes the network to new types of security attack vector. With LTE it’s also the termination of encryption at the cell site rather than further in at the RNC and the transition to a many-to-many architectural paradigm that create potential new security exposures in the network. This webinar will focus on approaches to handling these new challenges, focusing on 3GPP’s Network Domain Security (NDS) standards as well as the implementation of the I-WLAN Tunnel Termination Gateway (TTG).

  2. Reduce Risks and Add Value in Aero & Defense Programs

    02/24/2011

In today's competitive Aerospace and Defense markets, bidding on new programs is a risky business. Many contracts require the investment of significant money and engineering resources to provide prototypes, at the risk of not moving further or winning the contract. By using open standard-based products such as COM Express and ATCA, developers can decrease up front development cost, reduce technical risk while increasing focus on software, integration and key differentiators that will add significant value.

Join industry and product experts, Lorraine Orcino and John Long for this informative webinar. They will step you through a proven process as you develop your targeted programs and explain why ATCA and COM Express are the best choice for your Aero & Defense applications.

  2. Network Security for LTE Infrastructure Deployment

    11/30/2010

Most major worldwide mobile operators have announced plans to migrate their networks to LTE (Long Term Evolution), which will increase broadband capacity to support up to ten times higher data rates and enable an abundance of new mobile applications. LTE is a flat all-IP architecture, which simplifies network management and lowers costs, but which also brings inherent security threats and challenges on a large scale.

The 3GPP standards for Network Domain Security (NDS) specify ways to protect elements and secure communication links in the LTE backhaul network and enhanced packet core, but leave many implementation decisions up to the operators. Network security remains a major hurdle for LTE equipment vendors because the scope of potential breaches is so large, the technology is complex, and engineers with relevant security expertise are scarce and expensive.

This webinar examines potential security challenges in an LTE infrastructure deployment, reviews the relevant LTE and NDS standards, and presents some innovative and flexible solutions.
