This paper maps various Mil–Aero market segments and their requirements to the currently available COTS computing technologies. It then focuses on the high performance segment, which presents new opportunities for COTS suppliers, and compares VPX (VITA 46) and AdvancedTCA (ATCA), both viable options in this space.
